Who needs it? Asbestos Awareness
Asbestos Awareness training is a requirement for anyone who may encounter asbestos through the course of their work and for those who supervise such employees, it is also required by the self employed if they have the potential to encounter asbestos during their work.
So who may encounter it? Basically anyone working in a building where asbestos can be found, this means any building, structure, premises that was built or refurbished before the year 2000.
This could be any one the company MD, to the managers, general staff, even the cleaning crew, but most importantly, anyone who may disturb the fabric of these premises..
Asbestos Awareness can be delivered as a face-2-face course or it can be undertaken as an online course
This level of training should be reviewed annually.
Asbestos Awareness training covers:
The types and uses of asbestos in building products, manufactured items and goods.
The possible affects on health following exposure
The regulations surrounding and involving asbestos
Typically 3 to 4 hours is enough to cover the material, however, if this is a refresher course, a couple of hours can cover it, its all down to the TNA.
