Asbestos Awareness 

Who needs it? Asbestos Awareness 

Asbestos Awareness training is a requirement for anyone who may encounter asbestos through the course of their work and for those who supervise such employees, it is also required by the self employed if they have the potential to encounter asbestos during their work. 

So who may encounter it? Basically anyone working in a building where asbestos can be found, this means any building, structure, premises that was built or refurbished before the year 2000.

This could be any one the company MD, to the managers, general staff, even the cleaning crew, but most importantly, anyone who may disturb the fabric of these premises..     

Asbestos Awareness can be delivered as a face-2-face course or it can be undertaken as an online course

This level of training should be reviewed annually.

Course syllabus 

  • Asbestos Awareness training covers:

  • The types and uses of asbestos in building products, manufactured items and goods. 

  • The possible affects on health following exposure 

  • The regulations surrounding and involving asbestos 

  • Emergency procedures 

Course duration 

Typically 3 to 4 hours is enough to cover the material, however, if this is a refresher course, a couple of hours can cover it, its all down to the TNA.  

NOTE: this training IS NOT suitable to work with asbestos, where this is required, as a minimum, a Non-Licensed training course should be attended.
