3 hours
This IATP-approved asbestos awareness training course is delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams, providing employees, supervisors, duty holders and others who may be liable to disturb asbestos during their work with the essential information, instruction and training required under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The live online format makes the course accessible for remote learners while maintaining direct trainer interaction and structured learning. It is suitable for architects, designers, project managers, surveyors, maintenance workers, construction workers, refurbishment contractors, facilities staff, electricians, plumbers, decorators, demolition workers and any person whose work could bring them into contact with asbestos-containing materials.
Delivered live online over a period of approximately 3 hours, the course covers the properties of asbestos, its health effects, common locations and materials where asbestos may be found, activities that could lead to exposure, and the importance of preventing disturbance. Learners will understand safe working practices, emergency procedures, hygiene requirements, and the need to follow risk assessments, asbestos management arrangements and workplace control measures to protect themselves and others.
