This training course is designed for engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel responsible for servicing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining equipment used during licensed asbestos removal works. Based on HSG247 guidance and industry best practice, the course provides the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely maintain asbestos removal equipment while preventing contamination and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The course covers:

Properties and health effects of asbestos.
Legal duties and ancillary licence requirements.
Roles and responsibilities of maintenance operatives.
Safe maintenance of NPUs, DCUs, Class H vacuums, and associated equipment.
Inspection, testing, and maintenance procedures.
Use of PPE and RPE during maintenance activities.
Decontamination and contamination control procedures
Waste handling and disposal requirements
Emergency procedures and incident response
Record keeping, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation

Upon completion, delegates will have the knowledge required to safely maintain asbestos removal equipment and support licensed asbestos operations in accordance with HSE guidance and industry best practice
