This training course is designed for scaffolders who are required to work in support of licensed asbestos removal activities. Based on the requirements of HSG247 and industry best practice, the course provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to work safely in and around asbestos work areas, while supporting licensed asbestos contractors.

The course covers:

* Properties and health effects of asbestos
* Asbestos legislation and duty of care
* Roles and responsibilities of ancillary scaffolders
* Understanding asbestos enclosures and controlled work areas
* Safe access, egress, and working within enclosures
* Use of PPE and RPE
* Decontamination procedures and transit routes
* Preventing asbestos fibre release and cross-contamination
* Emergency procedures and incident response
* Waste handling requirements
* Practical exercises and industry best practice for scaffolding activities associated with licensed asbestos works
